IESUS TOTUS,
TOTUS IESU
“Jesus all, all Jesus”.
This is the phrase that embraces and summarizes our whole Charism of the Fraternity Poor of Jesus Christ. Within us there is a deep desire —and perhaps even what could be called a bold aspiration—to belong entirely to Jesus and to desire Him entirely for ourselves.” (OS 1).
“We desire the Word-made-Man: poor in Bethlehem, hidden in Nazareth, a pilgrim on the roads, abandoned on Golgotha, raised by the Father and glorified at His right hand. We desire that Jesus who announces that the Kingdom has already come and is in our midst; who withdraws into silence to pray and intercede before the Father; who gives life in abundance, yet also offers the narrow way of the Cross.” (OS 2).
He calls us to be with Him and to belong entirely to Him: "Then He appointed the twelve to be with Him" (Mk 3, 14). It is what it means to live with Him, like Him, and for Him so that we may embody in ourselves the same way of life: chaste, poor, and obedient (cf. LG 44, 46; PC 1). Let this be what we hold as our highest and supreme rule (cf. PC 2a). (OS 5).
Our charism is a gift from God, given to
respond generously to the needs of our time.
It is not merely an inspiration, but a concrete
way of living, serving, and loving.
Our charism is expressed
in an integrated and
inseparable way:
CHRIST-CENTERED
Jesus is the center, the origin, and the end
of all things
FRATERNAL
we live as a family, in real and daily
communion
MISSIONARY
we are sent especially to the poor and the
forgotten
SAMARITAN
we bend down before the suffering of
others with compassion and action
OUR SPIRITUALITY UNITES
CONTEMPLATION AND
MISSION.
We pray, live, and serve as one
single reality.
It is sustained by the Eucharist,
the Word of God, community
life, and concrete service to
our brothers and sisters most
in need.
We do not seek only
to proclaim Christ;
we desire to make
Him visible through
our very lives.
